Velipoje Lagoon is situated in the north of Albania, 7 km in the south of Buna river mouth and 10km in the northwest of Shengjini port.

The surface of the lagoon is 250ha. The maximal depth is 5m and the average one is 1m. The salinity reaches the value of 28mg/l.

Fishing in the lagoon is made by 20 fishermen. They use nets of different diameters and eel traps. The total annual production is 160kv.
