Narta Lagoon is situated in the northwestern part of Vlora district. It has an area of 2670ha with a maximum depth of 0.9m with an average of 0.7m. The salinity has very high values estimated 78mg/l in summer and 36mg/l in winter. The lagoon is connected with the sea via two channels.

A third channelthat used to connect the lagoon with the sea now is already disappeared and it is not considered as a channel any more. Fishery sector in the lagoon is undertaken by 11 private subjects. These are divided: two subjects in the fish weirs with 8 and 6 fishermen respectively and nine groups in the lagoon with three fishermen each.

Except fish weir in the lagoon are used different kinds of nets along with hook for eels and traps for mullet. For the last years fish productivity of the lagoon has varied 1300-1400kv per year.
